Daily Rhythms

When providing group care it is essential to establish a daily rhythm for each room. We look at each classroom as a "whole" by identifying each child's individual patterns and then use that information to establish a routine for the group.

Even the youngest infant displays early patterns for eating and sleeping. These patterns change often with the growth of the child. Therefore, routines vary. A typical day in these rooms will include:

    Infant Room:
  • Sensorial exploration
  • Large motor development
  • Story book reading
  • Fine motor stimulation
  • Interactive Songs
  • Outdoor Time
    Toddler Room:
  • 7:00-9:00 Greetings, Individual Work Time
  • 9:00-11:00 Snack, Group Song, Outdoor time, Art focus
  • 11:00-12:00 Lunch time
  • 12:00-3:00 Rest, Individual work time
  • 3:00-5:00 Snack, Circle, Clean-up, Outdoor Time
